You Can Earn Thousands of United Miles With the Airline’s Latest Promos

United Airlines released new promotions to help loyal fliers earn even more miles — just in time for summer.

With a new targeted sale, travelers can log onto United’s website with their frequent flyer number to buy miles with a 100% bonus. The promotion is valid until Tuesday, May 28, at 11:59 p.m. CT.

For example, travelers buying 50,000 miles will score an additional 50,000 at checkout, which brings down the total cost of each mile to just 1.88 cents a piece.

Travelers are limited to purchasing 200,000 miles per calendar year, factoring in any bonuses from the latest deal. Furthermore, United says it can take up to 72 hours to see the miles posted to accounts, which is important to know as award availability can change at a moment’s notice.

Buying miles isn’t the only opportunity to rack up the frequent flier miles. United MileagePlus members can now link their accounts with IHG One Rewards and register for a new summer promotion. Members who book an IHG hotel by June 30 for travel through August 31 can earn triple the United miles on their reservation.

“Take off with triple MileagePlus miles,” IHG shared about the partner promotion on its website. “Watch your miles reach new heights as an IHG One Rewards member. Register to earn triple United MileagePlus® miles on qualifying stays at select IHG Hotels & Resorts.”

Normally, travelers who opt to earn United miles over IHG One Rewards points will earn 2x miles at most IHG properties across the world. However, with the promotion, travelers can now earn 6x miles at most IHG hotels, which include popular brands like Intercontinental, Kimpton, and Holiday Inn.

These deals come as United recently announced a new miles pooling feature, allowing groups of up to five travelers to share miles through one account. Travelers can not only redeem United miles for flights with the carrier, but with Star Alliance partners such as Lufthansa and Singapore Airlines.
