The Gemmological Association of Great Britain (Gem-A) has appointed Kate Flitcroft FGA, Maggie Campbell Pedersen FGA, and Pia Tonna as members of the board and has reappointed Richard Drucker FGA as its president, following its annual general meeting.
Members were invited to vote on key ‘ordinary resolutions’ ahead of time via the Civica Election Services (CES) voting platform and were given the opportunity to submit questions for Gem-A CEO Alan Hart and Gem-A chairperson Justine Carmody to answer, whether they were attending in-person or virtually.
Looking ahead, Gem-A will host its annual Gem-A Conference on Sunday, 5 November, welcoming six experts from a broad spectrum of gemmological fields to London for a day of talks, learning and professional networking.
The day will culminate in the Gem-A Conference Gala Dinner at the Tower of London, where guests will be offered a private tour of the British Crown Jewels.
The association is also preparing to unveil the results of an extensive rebranding project, including an overhaul of its visuals, website and digital membership services. More insights are anticipated in due course.
