Frontier’s New Routes to Las Vegas, San Diego, and More Start at $19

As millions of travelers plan to travel for Memorial Day weekend, Frontier Airlines is encouraging passengers to visit new places with deep discounts on airfares.

This week, the airline launched new routes from San José Mineta International Airport (SJC) in San Jose, CA, to several cities on the West Coast including daily service to Denver and San Diego starting on July 22 and service to Las Vegas starting on Aug. 13.

In celebration of the new routes, Frontier is offering promotional fares starting at $19 from now until May 27. Travelers can select between a variety of new routes and get discounted fares between July 23 and Oct. 31.

The airline will begin daily service to Los Angeles and Phoenix with $29 fares also on Aug. 13.

Frontier has been on the move with customer enhancements, including eliminating change and cancellation fees for most tickets. The airline also introduced new fare classes including basic, economy, premium, and business, to make it easier for passengers to understand the differences and amenities with each. For example, the basic category does not include a carry-on item, but that is included with the economy category.

“With the timely return of Frontier Airlines to San Jose, visitors can experience our destination’s seasonal arts and cultural events, such as San Jose Jazz Summer Fest. Year-round, these five daily flights give travelers the opportunity to enjoy San Jose’s offerings, from wine tasting on the award-winning estate of Alamitos Vineyards to cheering on San Jose’s newest professional soccer team, Bay FC,” Visit San Jose’s President and CEO John LaFortune shared in a statement to Travel + Leisure

The new flight routes may also be helpful for business travelers visiting San Jose, which is home to many large tech companies. The region is also home to family-friendly activities such as the California’s Great America theme park and water park. Outdoor enthusiasts may enjoy visiting the region’s Sierra Azul Preserve, 18,000 acres of trails, hiking, and equestrian riding areas.
