As Paris Fashion Week kicks off, we meet a woman who’s challenging the French fashion industry to do more to tackle discrimination and put Black people on an equal footing with their White counterparts. Christelle Bakima Poundza has written a book entitled “Corps Noir”, or “Black Bodies: Reflections on Modelling, Fashion and Black Women” as she aims to ensure Black women are better represented on the catwalk, in publicity adverts and behind the scenes.
