Apple TV+’s Lessons in Chemistry Just Dropped the Official Trailer and It’s So Good

“Really good showrunning really is when you identify what the universe is giving you,” Smith says. “These actors are so amazing. Lewis Pullman is a fucking star, so [we wanted to] bring him back. That’s really a credit to Lee being able to be flexible and pivot and make most of the talent that’s in front of him.”

Both producers want viewers to hold room for an element of surprise in the series, and that extends to the theme song, which, much like Garmus’s original cover of the book, is probably not what fans will expect.

“The ‘Wham Bam’ song as our main title song was so far away from what I imagined the music to be in the show,” Eisenberg says, “but in the best way. That’s why you work with excellent people. That’s why you collaborate. Because if it was put in my hands, the music choices would’ve been worse.”

Who produces Lessons in Chemistry?

In addition to a lot of big names that you’ll no doubt recognize, the series is produced for Apple TV+ by Apple Studios. Lee Eisenberg (WeCrashed, Little America, The Office) serves as showrunner. Susannah Grant (Unbelievable, Erin Brockovich) executive-produces alongside Brie Larson, while Michael Costigan and Jason Bateman executive-produce for Aggregate Films. Sarah Adina Smith serves as director and executive producer of the first two episodes. Natalie Sandy executive-produces through Piece of Work Entertainment alongside Eisenberg. Louise Shore also serves as executive producer.
